"I took a walk in the woods and came out taller than the trees"

Hello everybody,
It's been a while. I've been incredibly busy with end-of-the-year schoolwork but I wanted to catch you up on my adventures. Last weekend, my roommate and I went on a 12 mile hike through the Big Basin Redwoods State Park. We have been wanting to do this hike for ages and the long weekend finally gave us an opportunity to do so! The park is huge and absolutely beautiful. It has many trails, some are even suitable for camping. The trail we took started at the head quarters of the park and ended at the beach. Perfect, no?

Our morning was off to a good start with a beautiful cup of pear green tea...

And we began the hike with this view...

And then completely escaped into the forest...

And the victorious ending with this view...

...and a celebratory handstand....

The hike was exhausting but a much needed escape from the real world. I'm proud to say that we completed it in just over 4 hours! I really recommend going if you are in the area.
Well, that's all of my adventures so far. But I have many more plans for the summer so I will be sharing more with you soon! Have a beautiful weekend, enjoy my pictures and wish me luck on finals!! Oh and happy June!!

A simple morning

Good morning everyone! How's your week so far? Mine is busy, filled with schoolwork as usual. This morning it was nice to take a little time out from thinking about my never-ending to-do list and make myself a nice breakfast. Organic steel cut oats with honey, pear, cinnamon and almonds and a cup of coffee. Simple and so good.

*Used my handmade bowl and mug

Hope the rest of your week is lovely!

Spring is flying through the air

There is a blossom tree outside my apartment that I am obsessed with. All winter long, my roommate and I have been waiting for it to bloom. Finally, it has happened! The tree looks like it's covered in snow, with all the clusters of white flowers and when the wind pick up, it snows petals. They cover the ground almost looking like snow. Since I love snow, and it does not snow here, this is the next best thing. Every time I look at the tree, I run outside like a child, camera in hand, taking more and more pictures.

Let me be...

"Let me be something every minute of every hour of my life. Let me be gay; let me be sad. Let me be cold; let me be warm. Let me be hungry...have too much to eat. Let me be ragged or well dressed. Let me be sincere - be deceitful. Let me be truthful; let me be a liar. Let me be honorable and let me sin. Only let me be something every blessed minute. And when I sleep, let me dream all the time so that not one little piece of living is ever lost.”
